Could there actually be nuance to the GOP message?

Hard as it is to discern, one could interpret their message as not coming solely from their much-touted ?bottom lines. While greed seems their only motive, is it conceivable that they are actually aiming a little higher than their pockets here?

Might they not, under the businesslike tone of their ramblings, ?be saying, "Yeah, we still don't want regulations, in spite of their bad press; ?because the stimulating atmosphere created by wilderness is what's in question. The only wilderness left is the unruly human mind; and regulations will kill it for good. Therefore, while they smooth things out and make things work, they are not only counter-indicated; in the long run they are ruinous to progress and creativity. The hunters, the brave, will go elsewhere to get their kicks.?

?Remember, many of these people still hunt with guns. They are at once the most advanced financial thinkers and the least evolved of our species; hence the anomaly they present when trying to make themselves understood. As died in-the-wool a leftie I am, I still find a shred of truth in their bloviated hogwash. Something that at least deserves a nod. The love of risk. What adventure after all is left to us?

I see no reason to chastise them for returning block grants to states, because states should have complete control over their personal and family and community services, all of them and perhaps instead of anti-trust laws their industries should have to function within their borders. In fact, I don't think our tax money should ever leave the State in the first place. The job of Washington, if any, where these services are concerned, is to set the highest standards of health, education and welfare services for the States to shoot for; basically by comparing them, having them compete in fact; ?but not to ?limit the level of service of any state that exceeds these standards, as happened when California decided to exceed Federal standards for clean air. That's just stupid.?

Allowing states to keep their taxes and use them more efficiently than any central program can do is to say that there is a golden mean where human functioning is concerned, and our nation exceeds that limit in most areas of human activity.?

There are just so many people who can operate efficiently together, though this number has certainly been expanded by modern transportation and media. But in another way, functional crises, from the classroom to the highway, are certainly a function of the voluminous number of people to consider, who are thereby reduced to digits: too easily lost and confused with other digits.?

Our states, along with most European countries, seem to have hit upon that optimum functional size, and they should be allowed to keep their citizens engaged, safe, educated, medicated, and amused with their own tax money. That money should be one tenth of each citizen's income. The proportion of our taxes sent on to Washington for the purpose of defense, government operations, foreign aid, etc; should be ten percent of each State's taxes.

?They work for us, remember?

It's clear that as a nation, we have not yet created for ourselves a perfect economic system, education system, health system, or political system; and our relationships with other nations are flawed as well. While fixing our international popularity is beyond most of our reach, as far as our intimate collected living systems go, the problem with them is the distance from the center. Each effort we make to serve ourselves has an ideal size and we must seek it. My guess is that as with most things, problems arise when things grow too large; and smaller is, as a rule, more beautiful.?

If the States each had the challenge of showing off a perfect school system, an optimum health program, a crack infrastructure maintenance system, and had a national forum for showing them off and spreading whatever truths about them that are relevant to other states who have not been so successful, isn"t that the only logical format for improvement? This is a much more dynamic and creative approach to improving all our community services, in contrast to everyone towing the National Line, however low it has been set.?

I've always been a Democrat, but the little Devil's Advocate in me finds kernels of truth hidden in the bombast and in-eloquence that have become the watchword of their posturing; and oddly it amounts to them, against all odds, clinging to Darwin with all their might, giving credence with their suggestion that the now famous 47% mooching off the system, succumb instead to the forces of Nature in Society, sink or swim in effect; ?these charlatans who would teach Creationism in the schools along with Evolution.?

Once again they contradict their own ethics, actions against words, nullifying them both in the process. Where do they stand? Alone with their money, helpless to do anything but what Mother Nature dictates to their basically simian natures, ?one of her first dictates, in fact: ?"Hold on to it (your mother's fur) with all your might, or you'll fall."

The second one is "Find that nipple and suck it dry!" See? A few metaphors later, and their behavior is completely natural!

?It's we socialists, (and let's stop denying the label) ?who are twisted beyond Mother's recognition; we who have strayed from the path designed for us: lawless, that of vicious, marauding and successful chimps, if success is defined by the number of children ?you breed. But if we do abandon those harsh laws of survival, (having certainly gotten the breeding thing down), in the name of goodness and charity, will we be undermining the species in the process? That's the real question here. Is turmoil and chaos necessary? There's a good case, ?millions of years old, ?to be made for it.?
