What are the signs that a brain tumor patient is terminal?

What are the signs that a brain tumor long-suffering is mortal? My daughter was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in June this year. Due to the negative prognosis, we didn?t go for surgery, chemotherapy & radiotherapy. As a replacement for we relied on traditional Chinese medications that have been used to treat brain tumor patients in China. Its already 4 months now since her diagnose and there are both positive & negative symptoms.

Go back to your health check doctor. He is doubtless the best person to help you to manage symptoms.

My husband has a glioblastoma of the brainstem, a similiar tumour. He choose to have surgery to take out some of it , radiotherapy and chemo. Since all of that we have lost the husband and father we had. He became extremely tired, very grouchy, confused , memory loss, constant headaches[not prior to surgery], he has become so self absorbed that he doesn?t even cuddle his kids or care about anything but himself. He has been on that many medications ,some to counteract chat the others. His quality of life is terrible and spends about 23 hours aday in bed.
Symptoms will come and go but I guess the tumour is mortal. For my hubby the health check people are only extending life not giving life. I would try alternatives to chemo and radiation but I don?t know surgery could be an option. The docs said that surgery gave my hubby 12 months, chemo 2 months and radiation 2 months, a total of 16 months but most of the subsidy coming from surgery and a lot of the problems he has had from the other behavior.
I hope you have excellent support since it?s a hard road to journey. God Bless ? just type medullablastoma into google to find heaps of info.

Unknown knows the answer to your question since we don?t know what type of tumor, what size, where in the left side it is, what grade it is?I had my spasm on a friday night. After a cat scan at my local hospital (ambulance ride), and I was out cold, I woke up the next day, after having an mri at a hospital 3 hours away and was told I had a brain tumor. My whole body was x rayed in my hospital bed to make sure the tumor wasn?t mets from a further cancer. Neuro drs are at the hospital on the weekends..They monitored me until early monday daylight, when my surgery took place. Sent me home friday and I was back 2 weeks later to get sutures indifferent and was told my diagnosis. One month for remedial and I ongoing radiation and chemo for 6 weeks.. Had a month off previous to chemo again 5 days a month for 6 months.. Prognosis depends on all I already mentioned and whether or not the full tumor could be indifferent.

Oh wow I?m sorry. How was the tumor graded so promptly? It took 2 weeks for me to get my diagnosis after surgery. He is on high dose steroids for brain puffiness. Vaccines made from tumor cells have become more usual, if he?s at a hospital that has the capability to do so?if they saved part of the tumor.. Ordinary chemo doesn?t seem to extend the prognosis very much, neither do the other treatments. The excellent thing is they got it all, which is very rare since gbm grows fiddle with like tendrils that go deep into the brain, many times wrapping nearly valuable areas that can?t be cut into without causing irreparable destruction. The 2 that I know with gbm didn?t live past the 2 year mark, but drs were powerless to take out full tumor.

my father has been diagonised with a brain tumor size 5.6*6.5 what does long term prognosis mean?

Answer by HarleyMan
Not excellent.

Stay near him. Make your time valuable. IF they choose to do surgery or have done surgery it will only make it grow nearer. That is the case with any cancer if it is deadly. Brain cancer is terrible as with any other. It will chat how he does things as well as his thought.

God Bless you and your family.

I had a supporter who?s father had a brain tumor and they operated?I told her to stay with him after the surgical course of action. She went back home to Florida? She did not spend time with him previous to he died.
