?My freshman year is the year we made the playoffs, and we beat Athens (to clinch a playoff berth),? said Webber of his favorite memory.
Fortunately for the workhorse offensive lineman, the four years of high school memories don?t have to end just yet, as he was selected to be on the East roster of the Michigan High School Football All-Star Game.
The selection came a small surprise to Webber, but it is simply a reward for all the sweat he has shed on his pads the last four years of his hard-working career.
?That is how I was raised,? Webber said. ?My parents told me to work hard and stay consistent with my efforts.?
And that he did, as Webber will be trading in his black and red Troy High jersey for a green and gold Wayne State Warriors uniform next fall. Webber, who enjoys watching the gritty Alabama lineman Chance Warmack, was also recruited by Mid-American schools and other Division 2 teams. Webber is also looking forward to the high academic standard of Wayne State.
?Wayne state is a great school, they have great academics school, and I like the coaches a lot,? Webber said.
With four years of making life hard for any defensive lineman that played the Colts, Webber is looking forward to accomplishing his new goals as a Warrior.
?I think they might redshirt me,? he said. ?But my goal is to start my redshirt freshman year or redshirt sophomore year when I get there.?
