Samsung debuts Android-powered Galaxy NX camera with interchangeable lenses

Samsung on Thursday unveiled a brand new take the modern camera: The Galaxy NX. Powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the?Galaxy?NX is the first Android-based camera with support for interchangeable lenses. And unlike the NX?s predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Camera, this new model features impressive specs and is intended for serious photographers.

?The Galaxy?NX?reflects the unique needs of a user who needs to take professional photos and share them immediately in any situation. For those who want to express themselves and the exciting moments that make up their lives quickly, easily and on the go, the Galaxy?NX?is an ideal choice? said Samsung?s SVP of digital imaging, Myoung Sup Han.

Spec highlights include a 20.3-megapixel APS C-Sensor, a?DRIMe IV image signal processer, an?advanced hybrid auto focus (AF) system,?1/6000 second shutter speed and integrated 3G and 4G LTE. The NX also includes some interesting new Android apps such as ?Photo Suggest,? which provides location-based recommendations of popular places to snap photos, and ?Story Album,? which automatically creates a timeline and a digital photo book out of images.
