Depp's Pirates Breaks International Box Office Records

Johnny Depp has sailed off with the world's biggest debut ever after the latest Pirates Of The Caribbean film took a staggering $346.4 million (?216.5 million) at international cinemas over the weekend.

The fourth film in the franchise, On Stranger Tides, debuted to $90.1 million (?56.3 million) in the U.S. alone and scored the biggest ever opening in Russia with $28.6 million (?17.9 million).

The film beats the 2009 global opening record set by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($236 million/?148 million).

It was also a great weekend for the latest film in the Fast & The Furious franchise - Fast Five crossed the $500 million (?312.5 million) global box office mark.
