A foundation that supports Fairbanks Memorial hospital has launched a fundraising drive to improve breast cancer care in the interior Alaska city.
The Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation is setting a goal of raising $1 million for the project.
The effort through October 2013 is named dubbed the Circle of Hope.
Sponsors tell the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that the money will help pay for equipment, staff training, patient education and clinical research.
