NEW YORK ? Apple said on Tuesday that CEO Steve Jobs will make a rare public appearance next week despite his latest medical leave that he started early this year.
Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company?s annual Worldwide Developers Conference with a keynote address on Monday, which will include news on the company's much-anticipated move into the cloud content space, among other things, the tech giant said. Observers have said Apple will likely start offering music and maybe even video content in a cloud computing-based content locker.
?At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software - Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple?s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch; and iCloud, Apple?s upcoming cloud services offering,? Apple said in a statement.
In early March, Jobs made a brief public appearance to unveil the iPad 2.
Apple shares in early Tuesday trading rose 2 percent.
