You?re never too young to hone your improv and comedy craft, and the best place to do it this summer is at the Kids and Teen Boot Camps through The Comedy Shrine Theater.
Three separate one-week sessions are offered to students aged 7-17: June 20-25, July 11-16 and August 15-20. Classes, which are broken into three age groups, are held Monday through Friday; Saturday is a performance day for all students. A discount is offered for multiple family members from the same household.
In addition to Boot Camp, the Comedy Shrine offers improv and stand-up classes on an ongoing basis throughout the year for both teens and adults, with comedy writing classes also planned. And everyone gets to show off what they?ve learned at Open Mic nights on Monday?s, beginning July 11.
Classes and Boot Camp are just part of the excitement at the Comedy Shrine this summer. The relocated theater ? now in Plaza Square at 4034 Fox Valley Center Drive, Aurora ? is in the midst of an expansion and renovation which will create dedicated spaces for improv and stand-up performances. Tickets are already on sale for the July 8 grand opening weekend, and are available at comedyshrine.com or ticketweb.com.
